These pieces have a few small imperfections (bumpy or slightly discoloured wood, or very small wood imperfections). They are just a bit more rustic than our usual finish.
Inspired by our love for nibbles we have designed this bowl with joy and purpose. It is the the perfect size for olives and nuts, but equally perfect as a pinch pot or for dips. The little handles are a unique feature and makes passing it around easier.
Hand carved by Daniel, one of our talented wood carvers in Mtwara using a free hand technique, this bowl takes a day to make. African Blackwood has a beautiful grain and is quite often two-toned giving the piece more character.
We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.
Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.
