Inyabu Wall Basket - Multi colour
Handcrafted by Burundian refugee artisans living in the Mtendeli camp in Tanzania, this wall basket is made using sustainably sourced local materials. Combining traditional Burundian weaving with modern design, each basket is meticulously hand woven over a period of days (or sometimes even weeks),
Sacks in which the refugees receive their monthly food rations (from the UNHCR World Food Program) are recycled and woven into local ugwafu grasses by artisan women. The coloured threads add a pop of colour, reinforcing the natural beauty of local materials.
Each basket represents the resilience and determination of the artisans, and carries with it the unique personal touch of its maker. A meaningful way to add style to your home.
