Hand carved from beautiful Mninga wood this long stirrer is great for stiring jars of punch, serving rice, or using to cook with.
Mninga wood has a naturally appealing texture and distinctive grain.
This spoon has been handmade for us in southern Tanzania by our artisans who use a traditional free hand carving technique allowing them to have more control over the shape. We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.
Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.
