Mninga Nibble Bowl
This is a one off piece made especially for us from an indigenous Tanzanian wood called Mninga and features the carvers hand written initials at the back.
Inspired by our love for nibbles we have designed this bowl with joy and purpose. It is the the perfect size for olives and nuts, but equally perfect as a pinch pot or for dips. The little handles are a unique feature and makes passing it around easier.
Hand carved by one of our talented wood carvers in Mtwara using a free hand technique, this bowl takes a day to make. Mninga wood has a unique brown and red tone which enhances the natural grain beautifully.
There is a very slight imperfection with this bowl, which is a pen line on the edge of one of the handles, as seen in the images.
We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.
Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.
