Imperfect Rice Paddle

Imperfect Rice Paddle

£10.00Price

Inspired by the Japanese 'shamoji', a large flat spoon to traditionally serve rice, we have created our own version with a large head to effectively sweep and stir grains without mashing them. The handle with a slight curve allows for easy gripping and is ever so tactile.

These imperfects have some dark patches of wood. This is a natural occurrence in the wood - we have just separated these from our usual stock as a patchy batch but many people love this natural look too.

Email info@qasaqasa.co.uk if you’d like to choose your item from our stock. Please include a phone number so we can send you some pictures.

Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.

Made in Tanzania

Material: African Blackwood

Please note although the wood is called African Blackwood, it can sometimes have light grains and sections running through it, giving it a wonderful two tone look.

Size: Total length 20cm | Handle length 10cm | Paddle width 6.5cm

Care: Hand wash gently in lukewarm water and dry immediately. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave soaking in liquids. Use food safe mineral oil when required to retain the natural finish of the wood.
