Small African Blackwood Scoop
One of our best-sellers, these elegant African Blackwood Scoops have an eye-catching bold design.
These particular spoons may have some of the following; a slightly more rustic finish than our usual design / wood graining colouration/ small chips. However, they work perfectly as a scoop especially good for keeping in jars of sugar, salt and spices.
Made by Filbert (our artisan in Mtwara, Tanzania), these pieces have been beautifully carved and are a perfect gift for a foodie or keen instagrammer. Many of the scoops feature a unique two-toned natural grain, showcasing the raw natural beauty of African Blackwood.
We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.
Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.

Please note although the wood is called African Blackwood, it can sometimes have beautiful light grains and sections running through it. We love the two tone look and hope you do too.
