Gikondo | White & Beige Basket

Gikondo | White & Beige Basket

£28.00Price

This small basket bowl has been hand woven using traditional techniques by a group of disabled women weavers in Rwanda.

It is ideal for small fruits, knick knacks or simply as a beautiful display piece. It also comes with a string attached to the back so that you can hang it on the wall. Combine it with other baskets or works of art to make a feature wall collage. The natural white and beige colours make it suitable for any decor style.

Sisal fibers are extracted from agave plants, and together with local grasses they are hand-dyed using azo free dyes and woven into these beautiful works of art which have been designed by us.

Talking Through Art, the organisation that supports these women, are doing amazing work to create an empowering and supportive community for the physically impaired. It enables the artisans to gain new skills and a place in the job market.
