Zanzibar Condiment Spoon

Zanzibar Condiment Spoon

£18.00Price

This spoon's design has been inspired by Zanzibar and the architecture found along the Swahili coast. The elegant handle and slight point on the top makes it ideal for using with honey, agave, jams and chutneys.

Made by Filbert (our artisan in Mtwara, Tanzania), this piece has been beautifully carved and is a perfect gift for a foodie. Some of the spoons feature a unique two-toned natural grain, showcasing the raw natural beauty of African Blackwood.

We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.

Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.

Please note although the wood is called African Blackwood, it can sometimes have beautiful light grains and sections running through it. We love the two tone look and hope you do too.
